Everybody loves Farmingdale's new BBQ Sauce
Inspired by the original recipe created by Professor Walter Becker, a legendary poultry science professor from the 1950s, Professor Becker’s BBQ sauce is being produced by the Alumni Association as part of a unique fund-raising initiative. The BBQ sauce already is a hit and is being sold in two versions, mild and hot. Proceeds from the product will help fund $50,000 in scholarships and support the operations of the Alumni Relations office, which developed the idea based on the memories of many of Professor Becker’s former students. “I remember with great affection the campus barbeques and with the 100th Anniversary celebration coming up, I thought this would be a great tie-in as well as something to recognize the great history of Farmingdale,” said Judy McEvoy, president of the Alumni Association.
